YMCA IMPACT STORY

“Our Staff also represent our CAUSE”

When I am working with New Directors I often remind them that our #1 teen program in the YMCA is employment. Nationwide the YMCA ranks in the top five of hiring first-time employees. For one year in the early 2000’s the YMCA overtook McDonald’s as the #1 Employer of first-time job market employees.  As an organization we have a responsibility for setting the tone for next generation of workers. Employees need to learn the value of responsibility, customer service, professionalism and the challenges that come with “Adulting”.  Recently we received a resignation letter from one of these individuals. As hard as it is to say goodbye, we know Jacob will achieve great things in this world. It has been a great honor and privilege to know that a part of him was with developed at the YMCA….

After five years, it has come time for me to resign from my position at the YMCA. I have been with the Live-Yers enrichment program for five years and it has impacted me in many ways, and undoubtedly shaped the person that I have become. I will be working at Meridian Health Services in Muncie as a case manager, an opportunity I am very excited about. I will forever carry these kids in my heart, as well as the dozens of people I have had the privilege of calling not only co-workers, but some of my dearest friends. I wish the staff and community at the YMCA all of the best in future endeavors. I am very grateful for the memories that I have made over this period of my life.

Thank you,

Jacob Bradford
